Why You Should Consider Cruising To Asia

Cruises to Asia are rapidly becoming more popular. Asia is a vast continent with so much to offer. A cruise is an easy and convenient way to visit several destinations during one trip. Traveling by air or train in Asia can be confusing. Discount airlines have made air travel affordable but there are many hassles associated with these airlines.

I have done several cruises in Asia ranging from the Middle East to Southeast Asia to Far East Asia. Nearly two-thirds of people on Earth are Asian, and you'll find the different cultures within the continent to be very diverse. Great cities like Bangkok, Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong and so many others are massive port towns and gateways to the rest of Asia. Asian cities are different that western cities. They are frenetic, exciting, energetic and chaotic. You will be spun around in a million different directions and then you’ll ask for more.

Cruising in Asia is great because it takes you right into the heart of the action in each destination. Whether you explore on your own or through a shore excursion, you'll take Asia head on during a cruise. Asian cities are my favorite places to attend Azamazing Evenings because the cultures of Asia are so interesting and colorful.

In many cities, Azamara's smaller ships can dock closer to the heart of the city than a larger ship. Another great thing about cruising in Asia on ships like Azamara is that they can take you to smaller destinations that large cruise ships cannot go. I have been to several destinations with Azamara that I feel lucky to have been to and only had the chance to visit because of their amazing itineraries.

For example, I went to Komodo Island with Azamara. I had been to Indonesia and Bali several times but getting to Komodo Island was logistically difficult, so I never made the effort. With Azamara, we left Bali and the next morning we were surrounded by Komodo Dragons! It was awesome!

For someone like me who’s been everywhere, Azamara has shown me that’s not the case. I have been to places with them that I hadn’t even heard of beforehand. Places like Sandakan, in Malaysian Borneo. This was a really cool destination that I didn’t know anything about. Now I got to see it, visit the orangutan sanctuaries, and see them in their natural environment. That was a real treat for me! I would never have made the effort to get there had it not been included on my itinerary.

That’s why I love cruising in Asia with Azamara. You can mix the world's biggest cities with hidden gems that will stand out to you because you don’t know much about them. They’ll surprise you!

I can’t wait to cruise Asia again later this year and explore a lot of Vietnam, a country I’ve been to but not as thoroughly as I will with Azamara. Stopping between the major cities is what I’m most excited about. I can’t wait!

Seven Things to do in Croatia

Croatia has seen a sort of transformation recently, one that has taken it from a hidden gem of coastal delights to one of the hottest travel destinations in Europe. What makes this small Balkan nation so appealing? It could be the brilliant sapphire waters of the Adriatic and spectacular white beaches. Or maybe it’s the medieval architecture and walled towns steeped in history begging to be uncovered. Or perhaps it’s the friendly, welcoming people and unique folk culture.
