April LOYALTY NEWSLETTER

Like many of us, Azamara endeavored to make 2021 a fresh start, and so far, it’s been going swimmingly. We kicked off the first quarter with some Aza-mazing news for our brand as we became our own independent, boutique cruise line under the new ownership of Sycamore Partners—and added a new sister to the fleet.

The addition of our fourth ship, the Azamara Onward, represents a new milestone in this phase of Azamara’s growth and will allow us the opportunity to launch even more immersive itineraries in more destinations. Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of loyal cruise enthusiasts like you, and for your continued support and contribution in helping us name our fourth sister ship, we at Azamara sincerely thank you.

It’s an exciting time and we truly cannot wait to see what the future holds for Azamara and our programming. We look forward to having you and our crew onboard soon, and lots of planning is going on behind the scenes to make that a reality. In the meantime, read along below to keep up-to-date with the details of our new ownership, upcoming savings, and our favorite South American destinations. We thank you again for your loyalty and are excited to include you in our journey.

To New Beginnings—How We Celebrated Our Newly Independent Brand.

March 19, 2021, will forever be a monumental day in our brand’s history, as we celebrated officially becoming our own independent cruise line under new ownership. This date just also happened to coincide with the announcement of our fourth sister ship’s name, the Azamara Onward, so you can say it was an exciting day overall for the Azamara family.

  •

After a full year of virtual calls and meetings, the Miami team came together for a small—but socially distanced—celebration, where Azamara President Carol Cabezas, had the honor to announce the name of our fleet’s newest addition, along with the welcoming news of the brand’s exciting new adventure forward.

  •

Our international family from their homes around the world were able to join in on the festivities via video call and even our crew members onboard had their own celebrations on the ship to commemorate the occasion. The joy and brand pride was palpable, as you can see from the photos captured below.

  • What This Transition Means for You and Your Loyalty

As Azamara navigates this brand transition to a private cruise line, the maintenance of our loyalty memberships and points remains important to us. At the moment, all Celebrity Captain’s Club members and Azamara Circle members will keep their existing points to date and maintain their status with each cruise line, as well continue to earn cumulative points in each program.

Accrued Captain’s Club points, along with Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society benefits, will continue to be shared reciprocally between all three cruise lines, provided you have had at least one past sailing with Azamara.

For further details on the progress of this brand transition and to review our frequently asked questions, please follow the link below, which will be updated accordingly as we have more information.

    Catching Up with Heike

Since June of 2020, the Three Sisters have called King George V Dock in Glasgow, Scotland, home along with some of our crew who have been working hard to ensure they’re all ready to set sail again soon. We recently had the chance to catch up with one such crew member, Hotel Director Heike Berdos, to see what she’s been up to, what life's like onboard these days, and what she’s looking forward to when we return to sailing. Read on to see some highlights from that conversation.

  • Girl Power

    Girl Power

In case you didn’t know, Azamara is propelled by some pretty powerful women. To commend themselves for being a team of strong and successful women in the cruise industry, female members or our onboard crew got together this #internationalwomensday to treat themselves to a well deserved break. A powerhouse group that included our Senior Doctor, Human Resources Manager, Hotel Director, and members of Security, Housekeeping and Dining enjoyed not only a little rest, but an afternoon of cocktails, delicious food, and a whole lot of crew comradery. Congratulations ladies on a much deserved celebration and thank you for all you do.

  • Amanda Poulson Q&A

    Amanda Poulson Q&A

Amanda Poulson has had an amazing journey with Azamara. She first joined us as a featured singer aboard The Quest in 2012, working her way up to fill-in Cruise Director in 2019. Now, in 2021, she’s taking on her biggest and most exciting challenge yet — Amanda has been named permanent Cruise Director aboard The Quest. Recently, we had the chance to sit down with Amanda to chat about her new role, what she loves about her life at sea, what she’s looking forward to most about returning to sailing, and more.

Take Your Tastebuds to the Ends of the Earth and Back

Captivating beaches, breathtaking mountain views, and lush rainforests—food might not be the first thing you think about when you mention South America, but it absolutely should be. From the world-renowned Malbecs of Argentina’s blossoming vineyards to the farm-to-table cuisine of many Latin American countries, gastronomy and wine culture can be found hand in hand wherever you choose to journey through South America. But don’t just take our word for it, enjoy a little taste at home or discover it on your own South American Voyage when you book this April as part of our Buy-One-Get-One 60% off second guest promotion.

  • Peru

    Peru

Known for its culinary prowess, Peru offers an exotic mix of indigenous dishes and criollo cuisine mixed with a dash of Asian influence. The results of this melting pot: one delicious food culture. Not sure where to start? A good rule of thumb for Peruvian cuisine is that traditional criollo-influenced dishes like ceviche pair excellently with a citrusy Sauvignon Blanc or a fruity chardonnay for heartier, spice-forward dishes.

Sound like your kind of cuisine? Flavors like these can be discovered as you journey through Central and South American on our 16-Night Colombia, Ecuador & Peru Voyage.

  • Brazil

    Brazil

Farm-to-table? In Brazil, it’s more rainforest-to-plate. With a fresh selection of wild grown fruits and vegetables, incorporated with culinary staples like Amazonian fish, black rice, corn, and beans, the flavor of Brazilian dishes are simple in ingredients but complex in flavor. We recommend paring some of these heartier dishes with a Cabernet Sauvignon or Malbec, or opting for a Chardonnay or sparkling to complement fruit-based recipes and fish.

Ready for a taste of of Brazilian cuisine and culture? Join our immersive 22-Night Carnival In Rio Voyage and experience it yourself.

  • Argentina

    Argentina

If Argentina is known for its red wines, you can guarantee the second main ingredient in their culinary repertoire is meat. A mixture of traditional methods and contemporary cuisine, popular dishes here like empanadas, churrasco, and matambre incorporate lots of local produce and ingredients, all topped with a verdant chimichurri. In keeping with the hearty palate of these recipes, we suggest pairing these dishes with a Malbec or a Spanish red.

Hungry yet? Get to know the flavors of Argentina for yourself on Azamara’s 21-Night Fjords & Antarctica Voyage.

Happy Earth Day
