Explore Well at Sea

In our commitment to wellness, we implemented our Explore Well at Sea program to ensure healthy exploration throughout your cruise.

Explore Again, Sail Well

You can be confident embarking on a future sailing knowing that we have implemented our Explore Well at Sea program to enhance our health and safety standards. Our team of medical and science experts has helped us implement advanced and enhanced sanitation measures and innovative medical services, among other protocols. Given the ever-evolving public health standards, we are continually evaluating these protocols and updating them accordingly. Rest assured; you will have access to our most updated program well before your sail date.

Whether you are ashore exploring or onboard enjoying our ships, we remain committed to community consciousness and personal wellness, delivering the peace of mind and safety you need when traveling. We understand that public health situations continue to change, and we remain committed to monitoring and adapting to these changes to ensure the health and safety of our guests and crew members at all times.

Proof of Vaccination No Longer Required

All guests are welcome to cruise with us, regardless of vaccination status, and will no longer be required to provide proof of vaccination. This applies to all itineraries. If requirements for the countries we visit change and proof of vaccination, testing, or additional documentation is required by national law, we will inform you as soon as this information is available to us.

 Boarding Requirements

As public health situations change, we continuously update, monitor, and add information on boarding requirements. Guests can check specific travel requirements and restrictions for countries by visiting applicable government websites. Prior to sailing, booked guests will be informed of the most recent requirements for their port of departure.

  • Guests are strongly encouraged, but not required, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Guests are no longer required to show proof of vaccination or testing results at embarkation.
  • Negative COVID-19 tests are no longer required prior to boarding unless this is required by local country regulations. However, we highly recommend that guests take a COVID-19 test prior to starting their travels.

While Onboard

Cleaning Protocols:

Azamara is following advanced cleaning protocols and guidelines recommended by the Healthy Sail Panel of global experts and approved by the CDC.  Below you can find a list of everything we’re doing to keep our ships clean:

  • Using EPA-certified disinfectants
  • Utilizing electrostatic spraying
  • Adopting Medical-grade cleaning standards

Medical Capabilities:

Your health and safety are our priorities. That's why you'll find an enhanced medical facility on board each Azamara vessel, equipped with:

  • Medical center with enhanced equipment
  • Isolation staterooms to provide comfortable, complimentary care.
  • Onboard testing capabilities
  • Telehealth medical support
  • Multi-level response plan

While Ashore

Azamara follows local requirements for all port calls. We recommend physical distancing and mask use in crowded areas where distancing is not possible and at your discretion.

In the event a ship sails into a port where permission to go ashore is contingent on providing a negative test result, the ship will facilitate testing onboard at no cost to the guests.

Additional port specific information will be provided during your voyage by the onboard crew.

Have More Questions? For more on our health and safety standards, please see these Frequently Asked Questions.

All guests must ensure they are medically and physically fit for travel. All guests are encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. While some inoculations may be recommended, certain countries may also require them as a condition of entry. We advise that you check with your healthcare professional, or a certified Travel Medicine Specialist endorsed by the WHO for specific guidance on your travel health needs, depending on the countries you’ll be visiting.

Azamara does not require a negative COVID-19 test prior to boarding.

A 100% Future Cruise Credit will be provided for any guest who tests positive within two weeks of their sail date, as well as any members of their immediate traveling party who choose to cancel.

If you test positive for COVID-19 during the cruise, you will be entitled to either a partial or full FCC for the amount paid, depending on the situation. Azamara will also cover the costs of COVID-19 related medical treatment onboard, any land-based quarantine (if required by national regulations), and flight change fees to return home for you and your Traveling Party. Guests must comply with travel requirements, health and safety protocols in order to be eligible for this reassurance.

We strongly encourage guests purchase travel insurance for added peace of mind and reassurance, either through Azamara or other insurance provider of your choice.

Guests who test positive for COVID-19 (both symptomatic and asymptomatic) will be isolated in their staterooms or in dedicated isolation rooms that are closer to the Medical Center. They will enjoy complimentary amenities like Wi-Fi and room service, along with regular visits or tele-consultations with medical staff to monitor their wellness.
