Dining, dancing, entertainment — a party onboard Azamara’s ships is a one-of-a-kind event. It’s a time to put on your brightest clothes, mingle with new and old friends alike, and enjoy an extraordinary spread of food that celebrates the different cultures and cuisines of the world. For nearly a decade, our onboard parties have been spirited celebrations that delight guests and crew alike. For many of our guests, the highlight of these parties is the entertainment. There’s singing, dancing, and beautiful music performed by bands, DJs, cast members, and sometimes even special guests. The fun goes long into the night, and the joy is unmistakable.
Today, we want to share some of that joy with you, which is why we’re presenting a virtual musical medley! It’s an opportunity to have an unforgettable Azamara party from the comfort of home. Start by making Chef Robert’s Grilled Curried Chicken Kebabs (an Azamara staple), then settle in for some entertainment starring some familiar Azamara faces.
Tony Would Rather Be Sailing
Tony Markey is a man of many talents. He’s been a scientist, a teacher, an actor, and he even went to law school (just to name a few), but we’re happy to say he’s found his calling as our Cruise Director. And while he’s done all sorts of things throughout his life, there’s one thing, as this performance proves, he’d rather be doing — and that’s sailing.
Join Ian Beyond the Sea
Since 2015, Ian Hartley has been a trumpet player aboard our ships, delighting guests with his signature timbre, shake, and scoops. Here, he performs Beyond the Sea, a classic song made famous by Bobby Darin. We must admit, Beyond the Sea certainly makes us want to be on the sea.
It Takes Two
Tony’s back for another performance, and this time he’s brought a friend — Cruise Director Amanda Poulson. Amanda is a natural-born performer, and has taken her talents all around the world. Whether she’s performing in New York City, on the water with Azamara, or in a webcam duet with Tony, her voice is always music to our ears. Here, they perform a guest favorite, The Prayer.
A Dynamic Duo
Tony’s certainly a versatile performer whose voice complements male and female performers alike. After his performance with Amanda, he reached out to Cruise Director Ernest Marchain to record another fantastic performance. Here, Tony and Ernest perform Lily’s Eyes from Secret Garden.
The Grand Finale
The stage is set for a performance that crosses continents. Azamara’s five Cruise Directors — currently living all across the globe — have come together to perform A New World with each other for the first time ever, just for you. Turn down the lights and turn up the volume — it’s showtime!
An Encore Performance That's Sure to Rock You
Can you hear the virtual crowd calling out for more? Tony certainly can! That's why he's invited his good friend (and guitarist extraordinaire) John Field to join him for one more song — an unforgettable rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen!
If you ask us, Freddie Mercury's got nothing on Tony!
We hope you’ve enjoyed this Azamara performance! If you have, we encourage you to share them with your friends, so they can have their own Azamara virtual experience. We’d like to thank Tony, Amanda, Ernest, Eric, Stephen, and Ian for working so hard to put these wonderful pieces together. We can’t wait to sing along with you aboard our Azamara ships again soon.
