WWF People to Planet: Small Scale Fisheries - Kleinmond

Book This Shore Excursion
Starting from $209 USD / Adult
OverviewHide
Take a deep dive into how small-scale fisheries are making a big impact in South Africa. First, however, enjoy a close look at the penguins of Stony Point Nature Reserve, an old whaling station that's now the protected sanctuary of these flightless wonders. Next, head to the community of Mooiuitsig to learn about a small-scale fisheries program locals are championing in partnership with World Wildlife Fund. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by a WWF expert who'll talk about the program and its impact. Then, set out to tour the community and learn more about its fishery alongside a local guide. Afterwards, savor a traditional fish cookout before visiting the local WWF offices to watch incredible footage of feeding fish captured by Baited Remote Underwater Video (BRUV) cameras. Azamara is proud to announce that $30 from the sale of this tour goes to support WWF conservation efforts in South Africa.
