Travel along the Galician coastline to discover the active port of Vigo and the charming fishing village of Bayona. First, you'll head to Vigo, a centuries-old commercial port that has welcomed great Spanish galleons and their New World treasures. Pass by the Cies Islands, a National Park, and view the ruins of the hill-forts from earlier settlements. Continue along the coastline to Bayona La Real to visit the remains of the old walls and ramparts.
View the ruins of the 10th century O Penso Castle, used to construct the 17th-century Fortaleza del Castro.
Visit Bayona to discover the port where Columbus' famous "Pinta" ship returned from its New World voyages.
See the 13th century Romanesque Collegiate Church, the Monterreal Palace, and the remains of Bayona’s 16th century ramparts.
