Embrace the passion for ceramics that has defined Greece for thousands of years, and make a little history of your own during a hands-on pottery workshop. Cross the island to the north side for a very special visit to the Bonis Ceramics Factory. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the owner, Dimitris Bonis, who’ll guide you through the various techniques used to craft his acclaimed pieces. Learn the storied history of Rhodian ceramics, including documented proof that clay bricks from the island were used to build the dome of the Hagia Sophia, Istanbul’s legendary landmark. Afterwards, enjoy a demonstration of by one of the expert artisans who’ll then lead a pottery class during which you’ll craft your own original masterpiece. Toast your achievement with Greek ouzo and snack on traditional mezes before heading back to the ship. Your ceramic souvenir will be cured and shipped to your home, post haste.
