Guests must be able to walk approximately 3 miles over even and cobblestone surfaces with approximately 250 steps and extended periods of standing. Inside Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica there is an itinerary dedicated to visitors in wheelchairs, however they will not be able to hear a large portion of the commentary from their guide.
Guests in wheelchairs and those with limited mobility should not select this tour. The Vatican Gardens are not wheelchair accessible.
Guests may be required to check large backs, backpacks, purses, video cameras and other items at designated checkpoints. This tour utilizes an audio system that provides guests with headset units to better hear guide narration. Units are to be returned at the conclusion of tour program. A charge of EURO 50.00 will be charged to guest for any missing device.
St. Peter’s Basilica may be closed or restricted due to services or special events without previous notice. In such case an outdoor explanation will be given and guests may enter on their own if permitted.
Should wait times to enter St. Peter’s Basilica exceed 45 minutes, an outdoor explanation will be given. These safety precautions are beyond the control of the local tour operator. Guests will be provided with provided with extra shopping or free time to compensate for not entering the Basilica.
