After a drive, set off on a walk to Dunnottar Castle, enjoying beautiful views of the Aberdeenshire Coast along the way. During your journey, hear how it was the residence where the Honours of Scotland, the Scottish crown jewels, were hidden from Oliver Cromwell's invading army in the 17th century. Arrive to the cliff-top fortress that was once home of the Earls Marischal, one of the most dominant families in the land. Follow the path onwards, viewing lovely coves and bays, and catch glimpses of the castle as it slowly reveals itself. Take time to view the castle and absorb the spectacular views. Next, continue to Stonehaven, a lovely harbor town known to the locals as Stoney.
