Discover Esperance on a stroll led by a local guide who'll gladly reveal all sorts of insider facts and tall tales. Your exploration begins at the Tanker Jetty, built to accommodate bulk ships in 1935 and today a favorite walk that extends some 1,140 feet into Esperance Bay. From here, set off on foot along the foreshore to Museum Village, a wondrous collection of historic architecture. Continue past the Esperance Museum, housed in the town's original railway marshalling yards, and the First Esperance School, established in 1896. Snap photos of the old Post and Telegraph Station as your guide provides insight into the town's heritage. Amble past the historic Bijou Theatre, still a favorite showplace to this day, and the Dempster Homestead, heralded as the first building built by the pioneers of Esperance.
