2023 South american golf cruise with PerryGolf™
We’re proud to partner once again with PerryGolf™, one of the game’s most innovative providers of international golf vacations, for this 10-night, 4-round voyage to South America onboard the Azamara Pursuit®.
We begin in Buenos Aires with an early evening departure for Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital city, where we’ll enjoy our first overnight and first round at Club de Golf Uruguay. Stroll the streets of Ciudad Vieja, the Old Town, which dates back to the early 1700s and is lined with colonial homes, one-of-a-kind shops, and sidewalk cafes. Next is the resort city of Punta del Este, Uruguay, a popular surfing destination and home to the undulating Cantegril course. After two relaxing days at sea to unwind as you enjoy Pursuit’s many amenities, we will reach São Paulo, the vibrant, fast-paced financial center of Brazil. You’ll want to explore the São Paulo Museum of Art and the São Paulo Cathedral with its fascinating blend of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Here you’ll play São Paulo Golf Club, Brazil’s 4th ranked course designed by legendary Canadian architect Stanley Thompson who was assisted by Robert Trent Jones as he was beginning his career. The scene shifts dramatically and beautifully when we reach the island of Ilhabela, known for its pristine natural beauty, picture-perfect beaches, and ecotourism. Next is Paraty where Portuguese colonial architecture remains undisturbed as does the old town center which is reserved for pedestrian-only traffic. Finally, we reach spirited Rio De Janeiro, where you’ll have an overnight in port to discover this vibrant city. Unwind in the botanical garden, and head to Mirante Dona Marta in Tijuca National Park for the best sunset views of the city. Of course, Christ the Redeemer – one of the New7Wonders of the World – is an inspiration not to be missed standing 98 feet tall atop Corcovado Mountain. Our final round will be played at the Olympic Golf Course designed by Gil Hanse and built for the 2016 Olympics which signaled golf’s return to the Games for the first time since 1904.
Every aspect of the golf program is fully managed by PerryGolf staff onboard and ashore. Your clubs will be ready and waiting at each venue. Tee times and pairings are arranged and posted in advance. Carts are always included, subject to availability. A snack lunch is included at the course along with an open bar after the round.
