Explore the natural wonders of the Cape Peninsula on this scenic journey to the famous Cape of Good Hope. Pass Cape Town's suburbs, continuing along the Atlantic towards the small fishing village of Hout Bay and Chapman's Peak Drive, arriving at the Cape Point Nature Reserve, where the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans meet. Stand before South Africa's highest sea cliffs at this World Heritage Site. From here, hop aboard the funicular to the pinnacle. In the spring and early summer, watch for southern right whales, dolphins, and sea birds. The lighthouse is one of the most powerful in the southern hemisphere. Keep on the lookout for bontebok, eland, and Cape mountain zebra. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, after which you'll visit the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach, where you'll view these birds up-close. Continue on past a colorful fishing village, Cape Town landmarks, and wine estates.
Stand where the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans are believed to converge—at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
Ride the funicular to the pinnacle at Cape Point and keep on the lookout for the reserve's wildlife.
