OverviewHide
Experience an authentic crabbing expedition in the northern reaches of Norway. Cruise the waters of the glacial Sarnesfjorden, a narrow inlet known for its delectable, meaty King crabs. Along the way, pause for photo opportunities of the magnificent birdlife that populates the coasts before reaching traditional crab pots. A local captain hauls up the pots to deliver a feast. King crabs only live in chilly waters like these, but are known worldwide for their delightful, light texture and sweet, buttery flesh packed into crustaceans that can weigh over 20 pounds. Once the bounty is aboard, journey onto a camp at Magerøya. This dramatic island’s northernmost tip is also the northernmost tip of Norway, a barren landscape devoid of trees where warmth is found inside a lavvo or indigenous tent. Relax upon reindeer skins as the captain prepares the crabs and settle into an exquisite feast in this rugged setting.
