After early afternoon flight from Hong Kong, you'll be met by your English-speaking guide at Xianyang International Airport who'll escort you to the Shangri-La Xi'an Hotel, where you'll enjoy welcome drinks and a buffet dinner.
Today, you'll embark on an extensive coach tour of Xi'an with your guide. First stop: The Terracotta Warriors Museum. The thousands of pottery warriors stand inside three vaults, which were originally covered with wooden roofs, under a layer of earth. The tallest warriors stand over 6 feet (1.8m), and all were equipped with still-sharp bronze weapons-swords, spear, crossbows, and longbows (the weapon have been removed and are not on view). After exploring the vaults, you're invited to join a professor-led lecture, to provide more information on the Qin Dynasty (221 B.C. - 207 B.C.), who's first emperor commissioned the terracotta warriors, and the full process of finding and excavating a wonder of the world. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll progress to the Xi'an City Wall, where you can enjoy walking or cycling, before returning to your hotel for some refreshments and rest before the evening's entertainment and banquet.
You'll be met by your guide to travel to the airport via the Hanyang Tomb. Built from 153 B.C. to 126 B.C., the tomb reflects the cultural features and court life of the Han Dynasty and features many colorful pottery figurines that were used for burial purposes. After lunch at the Regal Airport Hotel (basing on the time availability of flight), you'll take flight for Taipei where you'll be transferred to the Grand Hyatt Hotel for a Taiwanese dinner before enjoying the evening at your leisure.
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and escort you to the C.K.S. Memorial Hall, one of Taipei's greatest landmarks, built in memory of the late president, Chiang Kai-Shek. The park is elegant and quiet, and you'll have the opportunity to participate in relaxation activities with local residents. Following your exploration of the museum, continue to the renowned National Palace Museum, housing an astounding selection of Chinese Imperial Art. This extraordinary collection dates back to the 10th century, when Chinese Emperors seized art treasures for their own pleasure. Moved in crates from city to city to escape invading armies in the 20th century, the collection finally ended its journey in Taiwan. The museum holds an estimated 700,000 items, many dating back over 4,000 years. After lunch at a well-known Taiwanese restaurant before being escorted to Keelung pier, where you'll board your ship.
