Emerald Waters and Endless Isles
A journey that begins and ends in an enchanting floating city is bound to have a little magic in between. After leaving Venice, wake up to Opatija, Croatia — a picture-perfect seaside resort town. Perched on the sparkling Adriatic, swim in sheltered bays, stroll along the coastal promenade known as the Lungomare, or savor the region’s renowned cuisine and excellent wines.
Next is one of Croatia’s most underrated and eclectic cities, unique and artsy Zadar. The first of four consecutive late-night stays, spend your time here discovering the natural beauty of Krka National Park and the world-famous Sea Organ before departing for another late stay in Split. Croatia’s second-largest city offers a taste of old meets new with its decidedly modern city life contrasting against the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Diocletian’s Palace, which dates back to the 4th century.
Next is an extra-late stay in Dubrovnik. Visit wineries in the Konavle Valley or head to nearby Ston to taste fresh oysters. From here, we sail on to Kotor, Montenegro. Proudly known as one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities, enjoy your time touring the churches, shops, and restaurants that fill the streets of the old town on our final late-night stay. Then, it's on to the island of Hvar—fondly known as “the sunniest place in Europe”—letting the fresh air caress your skin. Here, try a crisp white Posip wine in one of the top winemaking regions in Croatia. The following morning, take in your last views of Croatia as you stroll the streets of Sibenik to visit the tiny islet of Primosten, known for its medieval Italian and Turkish history and heritage of wine production.
Conclude your coastal journey with a return to Venice for an overnight stay. Cobblestone streets, winding canals, romantic bridges — Venice is the perfect place to lose yourself amid intriguing architecture, admirable art, and decadent Italian cuisine. Consider taking an excursion to nearby Murano and Burano, known for hand-blown glass, boatmaking, colorful houses as well as delicate and intricate needle lace.
