Azamara Journey
Sailing: March 09, 2022

A Timeless Journey

Experience the incredible islands of five Mediterranean countries on this cruise with Azamara that begins in brilliant Barcelona. (We suggest arriving early to discover its dynamic architectural, artistic, and culinary treasures at your own pace.) Then wake up in mountainous Ibiza, or the White Island—perhaps known because of the dazzling white walls of the traditional houses and churches that make up the small villages dotting its landscape.

Our next stop is a late-night stay in Palma de Mallorca. Explore the world’s largest underground lake at the Drach Caves and put your game to the test surrounded by vineyards at the Son Gual Golf Course. On another late stay in Mahon, Menorca, go for a hike up Monte Toro to get the best views of this laidback Balearic hideaway. Dig into the island’s prehistoric past, or simply take in the natural wonders of this UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Spend a relaxing day on your boutique hotel at sea, then enjoy a late-night stay on the idyllic island of Corsica. Visit Porto Vecchio—where Corsica's two most famous beaches, Palombaggia and Santa Guili await—and as dusk settles, head to Old Town’s Place de la République for its lively nightlife, bars, and restaurants. In the morning, you’ll arrive in Olbia, an off-the-beaten-path port on the Italian island of Sardinia. Then it’s on to starkly beautiful Trapani, the gateway to Sicily and the medieval streets of Erice.

It's another late night in Valletta, Malta, and you’ll need the extra time, since Valletta has one of the most concentrated UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world. Relax and recharge during a final luxurious day at sea before experiencing the treasures of Chania, Crete—where you can stroll the old city and see a mixture of Greek, Venetian, and Ottoman influences, seemingly on every corner—before the journey comes to an end in Athens.
