Greece Intensive: Athens to Athens

Country Intensive Voyages

If the best of Greece could be bundled into just nine days, this is it: A powerhouse lineup of ancient sites, friendly seaside tavernas and shops, whitewashed villages, and Mykonos nightlife. The old town of Mykonos charms with shops, bars and restaurants tucked next to traditional whitewashed homes and churches. Visit an open-air archaeological treasure chest at Delos, and return in time for a sunset drink in Little Venice. After dark, Mykonos bars and clubs light up, and you’ll be glad to stay late.

Ephesus reveals the beautiful Library of Celsus, the Odeon, the Amphitheater where St. Paul preached, and the house where Mary, Mother of Jesus, once lived. Deep history and great natural beauty go hand-in-hand on Patmos and Rhodes. On Patmos, explore the Monastery of St. John, beautiful beaches, and narrow streets of whitewashed Chora town. On Rhodes, ponder a knight’s life as you stroll to the old medieval town from the ship.

We won’t blame you if you go no further than the harbor at our two Cretan ports. Aghios Nikolaos is a fishing village with a deepwater lake right in the center of town. Chania’s beautiful Venetian harbor is a real show-stopper. Dine harborside and explore the shops along narrow old town streets, or lace up your boots for a hike in the amazing Samaria Gorge. We stay late so you can. Before arriving in Athens our last stop is Santorini, famous the world over for its volcanic beauty, hilltop villages and stunning views.
