A Whirlwind Voyage to the Antilles

This stunning voyage through the Caribbean begins and ends in the historic city of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The second oldest European settlement in the Americas, see the original fortress walls that surround the port as you walk the blue-hued cobbled streets of the Old Town in search of eateries pulsing with salsa music.

A day at sea brings us to “Little England,” Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados. Immerse yourself in Caribbean culture from this city awash in impeccably preserved British colonial architecture. A touch of London—but with sun—a late stay here affords you plenty of opportunity to sip on some rum at the Mount Gay Rum Distillery and take advantage of the shopping.

In Castries, you can duty-free shop ‘til you drop while exploring the colorful buildings that line its relaxed streets. If you’re not into retail therapy, then unspoiled beaches, rainforests, mountains, volcanoes, and adventure are all yours to discover in this St. Lucia destination. Then it’s on to the island of Dominica. Lush and beautiful, meander the colorful streets of Roseau and fuel up on “bakes,” a decadent local treat of warm fried dough.

Continuing through the Lesser Antilles we stop in Charlestown, Nevis. Here, you can learn more about the Caribbean’s sugar cane trade and enjoy wonderful panoramic views at the Montpelier Plantation. Then it’s on to St. Barts, where we dare you not to fall in love with the French colonial flair of charming capital Gustavia. Sunny and warm, spend your time here relaxing beachside, exploring the dramatic scenery by ATV, or cruising the coast by speedboat.

After a whirlwind few days of port hopping, we return to San Juan. Spend your last day here exploring the city’s historic walled streets—a UNESCO World Heritage Site with buildings that date back to the 1500s—and soak up every last bit of Caribbean sun before returning home.
