Participate in a percussion workshop on this adventure that takes you to the Candeal neighborhood in Salvador. Some of Brazil's most important percussion musicians call the Candeal neighborhood home. Social work makes a big difference in the lives of the children and families of this community. One project, started by the musician Carlinhos Brown, brings music education to the children and families. Support the project by visiting with the local community and learning about how music plays an integral role in their lives. When you arrive at the project, watch a video presentation and then take a walk through the neighborhood. Continue on to a music studio where you'll enjoy a percussion workshop and learn more about how African rhythms play a role in Bahia music and culture.
