Get an in-depth look at the many cultures and power structures that have converged in Granada over the centuries on a tour that brings you beyond the gates of The Alhambra Palace. Begin in the Albaicin Quarter, famous for its Moorish architecture and Muslim heritage. Learn about the different cultural groups that lived here as you make your way to downtown Granada to visit the Alcaiceria. This centuries-old bazaar was founded by Spanish Moors as a silk market and today remains one of the most vibrant districts in Granada. You'll then proceed to the Granada Cathedral, an impressive Renaissance-style masterpiece with an interesting architectural past. See the cathedral's shimmering interior before ending your tour at the Royal Chapel, where the remains of Spanish kings, queens, and heirs to the throne lend insight to the city's storied past.
Relax during an approximately one and one half hour drive that will take you through Spain's countryside to the city of Granada.
Enjoy approximately four hours of free time to explore the city, dine, and shop at your leisure.
If you choose, visit the popular Moorish fortress Alhambra and the magnificent Generalife gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
