Journey from New Plymouth to the Mt. Egmont Visitors Centre and Te Kainga Marire Gardens, for an exploration of New Zealand's natural wonders. At the Mt. Egmont Visitors Centre, browse the exhibits and learn about the natural and cultural history of the region. From the visitors centre, if weather permits, you can get a glimpse of the volcanic peak of Mt. Egmont. Then, continue on to explore Te Kainga Marire Gardens, one of New Zealand's Gardens of International Significance. Valda Poletti and Dave Clarkson transformed the clay of suburban New Plymouth into a beautiful garden featuring native plants. Wander through the garden and then enjoy fresh local products with a sip of tea or coffee.
