Azamara Journey
Sailing: August 29, 2023

A hundred thousand welcomes to the Emerald Isle.

Rolling hills, historic castles, smiling faces, and friendly places. For a small island, Ireland has so much to see! Make the most of it on our Ireland-Intensive Voyage, complete with late stays and overnights to enjoy the pubs, nightlife, and good times the Emerald Isle is known for. Depart from Dublin after you’ve had the day and late-night to enjoy Ireland’s capital city, of course.

From one capital to another, your next day—and overnight—are in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This shipyard city has a storied past, as evidenced by the Titanic Quarter, or take a scenic drive down the Antrim Coast to the Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, it’s a mix of Edwardian edifices, impressive cathedrals, modern museums, and world-class restaurants.

Next, travel to the riverside city of Londonderry where you can stroll the city’s 17th-century walls, cross the Peace Bridge, view the Bogside Murals, and feel the historic events that have taken place here over the generations.

Dust off your camera lenses and get ready for the awesome seaside scenery of Donegal (Killybegs) where historic castles, vast landscapes, and coastal beauty await! From Donegal you’ll head to beguiling Galway where pubs, cafes, and street art make for a vibrant city experience.

After your late night in Galway, sail down the River Shannon to Foynes, the gateway to Western Ireland. From here, you can travel to nearby Limerick to enjoy art galleries and a city stroll or to the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher—a UNESCO Global Geopark.

There’s plenty to do in Cork, so it’s a good thing you’ve got a 10:00 pm departure time from nearby Cobh to fit it all in. Shop the English Market, tour the 19th Century Cork City Gaol, take a tour to Blarney Castle, and enjoy some Irish hospitality before departing for your day at sea. Your Irish journey ends in another iconic port town, Southampton, where after 10 days of Irish exploration, we think you’ll be feeling very lucky indeed.
