OverviewHide
Delve into Arabian culture throughout Bahrain with this wonderful tour of the Bahrain National Museum, a camel farm, a visit to a former royal home and entertainment at a lagoon-front hotel, plus enjoy lunch at the waterfront Dragon Hotel. At the Bahrain National Museum, the only museum in the Middle East showing only artifacts of Bahrain, see reconstructed ancient burial mounds and exhibits on pearl diving, life before the discovery of oil and more. Next, journey to the village of Janabiya to meet camels on a private farm. Learn about the humped ungulates’ significance to Bahraini culture and snap photos as around 100 camels come into feed after a day of grazing. At Sheik Isa ibn Ali House in Muharraq, tour the 19th century residence of the longest-sitting hakim or king of Bahrain, known for its use of wind towers to cool the home in the hot desert climate. Afterwards, relax at the Amwaj Island Lagoon Hotel listening of a Bahraini recorded auod, a guitar-like instrument. Choose to enjoy hubbli-bubbli, a traditional tobacco hookah, on tent-style cushions, too.
