Your tour begins in La Boca, Buenos Aires' most colorful neighborhood thanks, in part, to the painted houses and iron roofs of the Caminito. Continue the around Plaza de Mayo, where you'll see the city's major public buildings including the Cabildo (traditional City Hall), the Metropolitan Cathedral, and Casa Rosada-the pink colored Presidential Palace that occupies the site on which early colonial fortifications stood along the riverbank. A visit to La Recoleta is a highlight, one of the most fashionable areas in Buenos Aires, darkly best known for its cemetery as it contains the graves of many notable people, including Eva Perón. After, stop for a snack at the infamous-and traditional-Café Tortoni. Founded in 1858, it's the oldest coffee shop in Argentina. Lunch will be at a local restaurant before continuing onto the airport for your homeward flight.
