Explore the Jorge Amado Memorial House and the forts at Barra during this evening celebration of Bahia's rich culture and heritage. Your journey begins with a visit to the Rio Vermelho neighborhood where you'll visit Jorge Amado's Memorial House. The memorial house was once the residence of Jorge Amado and Zélia Gattai. Its character reflects the identity of the writer who helped share the culture of Bahia with the world through his books. Stroll the gardens where you can see Mário Cravo sculptures. Explore the house, whose artwork includes a balcony tile painted by Pablo Picasso. Make your way to Largo de Santana where you'll taste the popular acarajé, a deep fried Brazilian delicacy. In Barra, you'll visit the forts of Santa Maria and São Diogo. Inside, wander the interactive exhibitions featuring the work of the photographer and ethnographer Franco-Brazilian Pierre Verger, and the Argentine artist Carybé.
