Making the world a better place is part of the Azamara® experience. Known for itineraries designed with the culture seeker in mind, the travel company’s G.I.V.E. Program (Get Involved Volunteer Everywhere) raises money throughout the year to provide Christmas gifts for those who would most likely go without.
This video captures the generous spirit of Azamara crewmembers whose humble gestures make big impacts around the globe. Last year they raised $10,000 to buy pillows, mattresses, and bed sheets for the Seeds of Hope orphanage in Bali. Crewmembers share how amazing it is that such simple things can bring so much joy and make a world of difference. Others marvel at how little is asked for – a basketball – rather than five or six wishes of electronic toys. Who knew that a first-time trip to McDonald’s could be a dream-come-true for a child? Azamara crewmembers, that’s who.
Azamara passengers are invited to join the crew in the joy of giving. The main fundraiser is a raffle with the prize being a big beautiful navigation chart of the sites visited on the cruise. The popular raffle tickets begin at $20.
The G.I.V.E. Program is a wonderful opportunity for Azamara guests to share with others. I have worked with boys orphanages in Peru and would love the opportunity to be on Azamara’s next Christmas Cruise. I can't imagine a better way to G.I.V.E. my time and money than making a child smile, even if it is only one child.
