Summer Down Under
Natural wonders, native culture, and new immersive experiences are yours to discover as we sail from Australia around New Zealand. Depart from Melbourne—Australia’s cultural capital—to arrive in Sydney after a day at sea for an overnight stay where you’ll enjoy fresh air, unique flavors, and locals who know a thing or two about living life to the fullest. Eden is like a piece of heaven on Earth, where golden beaches, crystal blue waters, and lush green forests await. Keep an eye out for humpback whales, and head on a cruise of Pambula lake to learn about Sydney rock oysters and enjoy a tasting.
Then you’ve got two sailing days to experience all your boutique hotel at sea has to offer. Indulge in a treatment at The Sanctum Spa, dine at our specialty restaurants, and take in exciting live shows.
We arrive in New Zealand through the jaw-dropping Milford Sound, a panoramic showcase of towering mountains and cascading waterfalls. Make a trip inland to Queenstown·the adventure capital of the world—for an Overnight Experience, then join us back at the ship in Dunedin. Over the next few days, you'll get to experience the Scottish-influenced architecture and Taieri Gorge Train of Dunedin, and the Colonial architecture (with a French flair) of Akaroa. In Wellington, live out your Lord of the Rings fantasy with a late night stay en route to the artists’ haven of Nelson where you can shop for one-of-a-kind art pieces and explore Abel Tasman National Park on another late night stay.
If you like wine, you’ll love Picton. Located close to the legendary Marlborough wine region, taste this area's renowned terroir with each sip. Then it's on to Napier for even more wineries and our Meet the Maori experience—visiting Hakikino ancestral lands and learning about Maori traditions and legends. With an overnight stay in Tauranga, visit the Hobbiton movie set and explore geothermal wonder in Rotorua. Learn about the Māori in Bay of Islands and marvel at breathtaking glow worm caves before your journey concludes in Auckland. Head to the top of the Sky Tower (the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere), take a guided tour of the coastal rainforest, or go on a harbor cruise.
