From picture-perfect beaches to stunning volcanic peaks

This Canary Islands intensive voyage will take you out of this world and into one that is filled with cultural diversity, ethereal nature, and staggering beauty. We begin in Gran Canaria, a small island with a large variety of landscapes, climates, and attractions. Go to the old city center of Vegueta to walk down the same streets Columbus did 500 years ago, visit the Caldera de Bandama in Gran Canaria’s wine country, or head to Tejeda for the rock formation of Roque Nublo and spectacular views.

After a luxurious day at sea, a beautiful overnight stop in Madeira breaks up your Canary Island adventure but doesn’t ease up on the sunny island charm. Visit the 16th century Cathedral of Funchal (Sé), take a cable car ride up to Monte in the hills overlooking Funchal, and if you’re feeling adventurous, try a wicker toboggan sled ride down the steep streets.

On Lanzarote, whose otherworldly scenery was born of hundreds of fire-breathing peaks, visit the secret natural swimming pools of Los Charcones or explore the lava fields of Timanfaya National Park, a true visual wonder.  On the spectacular coastline of Fuerteventura, stroll alongside the calm crystal-clear waters of La Concha beach, discover the immense Corralejo dune field, or meander the cobbled streets of Betancuria, founded by the Norman conqueror Jean de Béthencourt in 1404.

In La Palma, experience La Caldera de Taburiente, the island's greatest natural treasure, or dive crystal clear waters to explore the caves and arches of one of three marine reserves in the Canary Islands. In La Estaca, there is just as much diversity in things to do as there is in the natural setting. Hike the famous Camino de Jinama, an old route once used by the island’s inhabitants and be sure to try a quesadilla, which is not what you think, but a delicious dessert made with the island’s traditional cheese, eggs, aniseed, lemon peel, sugar, and cinnamon.

On La Gomera, take in the island’s rugged terrain and incredible views at Les Roques, four enormous, ancient volcanic chimneys. Feeling brave? Visit the Mirador de Abrante, a famous walkway with a glass floor that gives you the feeling of walking over the cliff it’s perched on, while your feet remain firmly planted on safe ground.

On Tenerife, daydream on the beach, learn about the island’s ancient inhabitants at the archaeological sites of Guanches, or explore the mysterious step pyramids at Güímar. We stay late so you’ll be able to stargaze the dark starlit sky before we return for an overnight at our last memorable port Gran Canaria, to revisit your favorite sights or discover new ones.
