Begin with a visit to the summit of Mount Victoria where you’ll have a wonderful 360° view of Wellington and harbor.
Continue on to the location where filming of the “Lord of the Rings” first started. Stroll through the picturesque forest of the ‘OuterShire’where Frodo and the Hobbits began their journey. There were many sequences filmed here including ‘Race to the Ferry’ and the famous ‘Get off the Road’ scenes. Visit Weta Cave, with an exclusive Weta Workshop tour which offers a peek into the magic of Weta and the many films they have worked on. The tour is guided by talented members of the workshop floor, using props, models and weapons they helped make for the movies.
