Phenomenal Food and Endless Fascination on a Vietnam & Thailand Cruise
Your journey through Vietnam and Thailand departs from Hong Kong, China, where east meets west in a fascinating juxtaposition of old and new. After a relaxing day at sea, you’ll arrive in Halong Bay, Vietnam for an overnight stay. Explore the otherworldly beauty of Thien Cung Cave or hang out with the locals and get a taste for daily life at Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake of the Returned Sword). This centerpiece of Hanoi is home to many ancient shrines and brilliant gardens. If you have an adventurous palate, Hanoi has some of the world’s best food, with wild and wonderful cuisine to satisfy your exotic tastes. Next up is Da Nang, Vietnam, an immense imperial city perched on the picturesque Perfume River. Modeled after Beijing’s Forbidden City, Hue is a sprawling complex of temples, pavilions, moats, shops, museums, and galleries.
Enjoy a day sailing the South China Sea before an overnight visit to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This bustling port is full of busy marketplaces and restaurants serving delicious local specialties like Bahn Mi, Pho, and Vietnamese Coffee. Visit the landmark Reunification Palace or the fascinating Cu Chi Tunnels on the Mekong Delta.
Another day at sea will lead you to Bangkok (Klong Toey), Thailand, where you’ll spend three days. Bring an appetite and a sense of wonder as you explore this foodie paradise, sampling everything from humble noodle bowls to international cuisine. Make sure to take in the opulent Grand Palace and Wat Pho, where you’ll find yourself astonished by the incredible golden reclining Buddha statue. Ride on an iconic Tuk Tuk—there’s no better way to tour the streets of Bangkok than from one of these three-wheeled vehicles. With three days here, you can choose to take an overnight journey to legendary Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the world’s largest religious monument and a UNESCO Heritage Site.
The next morning, you’ll arrive in Ko Samui, Thailand, a tiny tropical island paradise with shores lined with coconut trees, endless white sand beaches, and stunning turquoise blue water. Spend one more day at sea sailing to Singapore, often called the Food Capital of the World.
