Cruise Through Luxe and Legendary Europe from Turkey to Greece
Begin your 13-night cruise with an overnight stay in Istanbul, Turkey where Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and more await. Next, visit Varna, Bulgaria's maritime capital. This cosmopolitan seaside town offers the perfect opportunity to sample a few premium Bulgarian wines before heading to foodie-friendly Constanta, Romania. Take in its Roman mosaics, eight miles of sandy beaches, and capital city of Bucharest. Next is a late night in Odessa, Ukraine. Explore the beautiful city center for unique monuments and picturesque panoramas or walk the sweeping Potemkin Steps before making your way to the Archaeology Museum — famous for its fascinating collection of coins and medals.
Spend a day relaxing at sea while you make your way to Çanakkale, Turkey. Here, stroll along the Kordon (the waterfront promenade) and explore the ancient city of Troy. Once the stuff of mythology, archaeological excavations have brought life to Homer’s Iliad and the tale of beautiful Helen, whose face was said to have “launched a thousand ships.” Next up is a late night visit to Athens where history comes alive in the birthplace of Western civilization. Then it’s off to sun-kissed Santorini, Greece for another late stay. Sailing into port, it’s hard to not be captivated by Santorini’s towering cliffs that plunge into the shimmering turquoise waters. Santorini’s beaches make it an ideal destination for sun worshippers, while its diverse walking paths are a dream for hikers.
You’ll then journey to the Greek Island of Crete. Explore Chania, a spellbinding town awash in Turkish and Venetian architecture. The next day, it’s off to the races with a late night at the colorful port of Katakolon, the gateway to Olympia. Home of the original Olympic games, you’ll find ruins dating back to 776 BC. Another late night in Corfu, Greece, will give you time to explore the breathtaking Achilleion Palace and Mon Repos villa. This island has earned its reputation as a popular spot for explorers. Be sure to sample pastitsada, a beef stew that is a Corfiot specialty.
A final day will be spent at sea as you sail to the romantic floating city of Venice. Tour its enchanting cobblestone streets, overarching bridges, and famous canals.
