The distance from the coach drop-off /pick up point to St. Peter’s Square is approximately 0.25 miles.
Drive between Civitavecchia and Rome is approximately 1.5 hours each way.Guests who plan to visit the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica should be aware that conservative attire is mandatory and that they may be required to check large bags, backpacks, video cameras and/or personal water bottles at designated checkpoints.
In the event of Religious Ceremonies held in St. Peter’s Square, or crowds inside the Basilica, it may be closed for security reasons without previous notice.
Guests might encounter considerable crowds, lines and delays at the Vatican Museums, St. Peter's Basilica, and other venues.
Should the designed motor coach drop off / pick up point for St. Peter’s Basilica be congested or unavailable, an alternative drop off / pick up point location will be used. Please note that an additional walking portion of 0.6 miles from / to the alternative location should be considered.

Due to new traffic regulations in Rome, large buses have been given limited access to the city center. This will result in longer walks to access the main venues.Guests planning to visit the Colosseum are advised that there are usually very long lines to enter and a ticket is required. Backpacks, suitcases, and large bags/objects are not allowed inside. There are no lockers available. Access to Colosseum my be limited by local authorities due for safety reasons.
Most stores in Rome and at the Vatican, with the exception of souvenir shops, are closed on Sundays and public holidays. Opening hours vary by season.The amount of time on your own will be approximately 5 hours.
