Over the last few weeks, Azamara’s Corporate Chef Robert has been busy sharing some of his favorite recipes with you. He’s made Grilled Curried Chicken Kebabs and shared his recipe for Green Thai Chicken Curry. But today, he’s going beyond — literally — with his Asian Style Beyond Burger.
What is a Beyond Burger, exactly? It looks like a classic burger, it cooks like a classic burger, but it’s anything but! This is a burger that satisfies like a meaty meal, but comes with the healthy benefits of a plant-based bite to eat. Best of all, Chef Robert has given it his own signature kick, so it’s full of flavors you’re sure to love. Follow along with the video below. Chef Robert walks you through everything you need to know to prepare this meal, while also sharing stories of how the Beyond Burger has become a favorite of passengers aboard Azamara ships.
Before you get started, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Beyond Burger
- Hamburger Bun
- Mashed Avocado
For the Asian coleslaw, you’ll mix:
- Shredded White cabbage
- Lime juice
- Wasabi paste
- Ground pepper
- Sesame seeds
For the spicy spread, you’ll mix:
- Sriracha sauce (yellow or red)
- Lime Juice
- Pan-fry the burger in a non-stick pan on both sides for about 4-5 minutes until crispy and cooked.
- Cut the bun in half and toast on both sides until they’re golden brown. Add some of the spicy spread on each side.
- Place the cooked burger in the middle of the bun, add the Asian coleslaw on top
- Add the mashed avocado on top of the coleslaw
- Place the other half of the burger bun on top, enjoy!
